Mimaki Engineering Co., Ltd. (Head office: Tomi-shi, Nagano, Pref.; President: Kazuaki Ikeda), specializing in industrial inkjet printers, cutting plotters and 3D printers, will exhibit the CFX series of flatbed cutting plotters with the high cutting speed and processing pressure in the high-end class at the “ISA International Sign Expo 2024” to be held from April 10, 2024 and will begin worldwide sales in June.

Since the release of the CF-120 flatbed cutting plotter in 1991, we have expanded our lineup to include the CFL-605RT entry-level model, the CF2 series and the CF3 series mid-range models, all of which have earned high acclaim in the market. We have now added the “CFX Series” lineup as a high-end model with significantly improved cutting speed and processing pressure from the previous lineup, and also our first “V-cut” compatible model.

Overview of the CFX series

  1. High-end machine with best-in-class operating speed and machining pressure
  2. Up to four types of machining tools can be mounted simultaneously. Reduces tool change frequency in continuous machining of various materials.
  3. Two types of cutting modes, “position control mode” and “pressure control mode,” can be used to achieve high-quality machining.
  4. Accurate machining with no overcut or leftover material across the entire machining table area of up to 2.5 x 5.0 meters.
  5. Accurate machining of the back side of the material in accordance with the print position on the front side
  6. 3 types of table sizes are available (2.5m wide by 1.3m long, 2.5m by 3.1m wide, and 2.5m by 5.0m long). Expansion of the machining table is possible even after the CFX is installed.

The CFX series has a lineup of various processing tools for different applications, and we will offer those combinations within three types of package models (-IC/-EC/-LC) for customers to choose from at the time of purchase.

  1. -IC package model
    Entry-level package with minimal tools. Capable of producing containers by processing cardboard and trimming film and thin foam to produce stickers, labels, panels, and other sign graphics. Additional router tools can be purchased later for a total sign graphics production solution.
  2. -EC package model
    A mid-range package that adds a reciprocating (vibration) tool and a V-cut tool to the IC package model. In addition to cardboard, various types of corrugated board processing is available, enabling production of containers in general and fixtures using reinforced corrugated board.
  3. -LC package model
    Top of the line-up EC package model with router tool included. It can produce containers and all sign graphics.

1. High-end machine with best-in-class operating speed and machining pressure

This industry-leading flatbed cutting plotter achieves a maximum operating speed of 100 cm and a processing pressure of 30 kg.

2. Up to four types of machining tools can be mounted simultaneously. Reduces tool change frequency in continuous machining of various materials.

In addition to the standard pen tool, three types of machining tool slots are provided, allowing simultaneous mounting of any combination of a push-off tool, reciprocating tool, V-cut tool, ruled tool, and router tool (to be available in July). Even when alternately machining different materials, it reduces the time required for troublesome tool changes and adjustments.

3. Two types of cutting modes, “position control mode” and “pressure control mode,” are used to achieve high quality machining.

Position control mode…When processing hard materials, the depth of material processing is specified and the material is cut off little by little to achieve a clean cut surface.
Pressure control mode…Reduces ruled liner cracking in the width direction ruled processing of soft corrugated board.

4. accurate machining with no overcut or leftover material across the entire machining table area up to 2.5 x 5.0 meters

The height accuracy of the entire table area is automatically measured when the CFX is installed, and the system operates in accordance with the accuracy during machining. (Table plane tracking function) Realizes high-quality machining of V-cuts, where machining quality is critical due to excessive cutting and left-over cutting.

5. Accurate machining of the back side of the material in accordance with the print position on the front side

Equipped with a new camera unit (sold separately for some specifications), accurate cutting is possible even when the printing surface is turned over.
When using thick materials or tools with a wide blade width, it is possible to produce good-looking shapes without leaving blade marks on the printed surface.

6. 3 types of machining table sizes are available, and the machining table can be expanded even after the CFX is installed.

  • CFX-2513…Maximum processing size 1,300mm x 2,540mm
    We can consistently process standard sizes (4×8 boards) for sign and graphic materials.
  • CFX-2531…Maximum processing size 3,190mm x 2,540mm
    4×8 plates can be set at the front and rear of the table and processed alternately. While one material is being processed, the other material can be exchanged and cleaned manually. This eliminates operator waiting time and improves production efficiency.
  • CFX-2550…Maximum processing size 5,080mm x 2,540mm
    We can process sign banners, packages, and construction materials up to 5m in length.

Size can be expanded by adding processing tables after initial installation. We support the growth of your processing business.

Mimaki announces the release of of Eco-solvent inkjet printers, JV330-130/160 and CJV330-130/160

Mimaki Engineering Co., Ltd. (Head office: Tohmi-shi, Nagano Pref.; President: Kazuaki Ikeda), specializing in industrial inkjet printers, cutting plotters and 3D printers, delivers an announcement of the simultaneous worldwide release of large format inkjet printers, “330 Series”.

Since the world’s first eco-solvent inkjet printer, “JV3-130S/160” was introduced to the market in 2002, we have been leading the industry by introducing printers with new values, always focusing on “Something New, Something Different” to meet customers’ needs for high image quality and quick delivery.

With the catch copy, “Give your creativity a Glow up”, in pursuit of new value, we designed and developed the casing of these products from the ground up, with bringing together the technological expertise we have accumulated over the past 20 years for the newly announcing “JV330-130/160” and “CJV330-130/160” of large format inkjet printer. And the “330 Series” will make an appearance in the market as new models bearing the “3”, which has been really loved from the customers engaged in sign graphic industry.

JV330-130/-160 and CJV330-130/-160 are added to the line-up of the entry model “100 Series” and the standard model “300 Series” as middle and high-end models to meet the needs of customers.
In addition to its impressive image quality and high productivity, the high value-added functions are mounted to assist customers in saving work and labor.

The 330 Series have newly the “Mimaki Weaving Dot Technology (MWDT)”, a printing technology that changes the order of ink droplet placement depending on the printing conditions.
It suppresses unexpected occurrence of streaks or unevenness of printing caused by slight individual differences in the print head or subtle deviations in adjustment.

We have also released a new input profile “Deep Color Natural”, a standard format for color management.
It makes full use of the wide color gamut of the market-proven “SS21”, our eco-solvent ink and reproduces fully vivid solid color*1 expression, natural gray tone, and natural skin tone, which were difficult to coexist in the past.

Printing speed is 21.0m2/h in standard mode with 4 color (C, M, Y, K), and 13.2m2/h with 8 colors (C, M, Y, K, Lc, Lm, Lk, Or), of high productivity. As befits our flagship model, it promotes work efficiency with high image quality and high productivity.

The “XY slitter” and the “Media changer” are two high value-added functions that assist in your saving work and labor. The XY slitter has an in-line function that cuts all sides of the media after printing, enabling automatic slit processing without the need of taking-out media. This will significantly shorten the post-process work and reduce the space required for the cutting work that used to be done manually.
And the Media Changer accommodates up to three rolls of media to be able to change by simply turning the handle with light force. The Media changer reduces the time and effort required to change media, contributing to a more efficient work environment.
In addition, these new models are compatible with “Mimaki Remote Access (MRA)”, which allows you to remotely operate the machine and check its operation status from your smart phone*2 or PC, if inside a LAN environment of the same segment. Operation of the printer without worry even from a remote location provides you with a desirable work environment.

As the other new mechanism, there are an ink supply unit that enables agitation of large-capacity 2L ink packs without removing them from the unit, and the drive motor, which was conventionally mounted on only one side, is now mounted on both the left and right sides of the media winder for more stable winding. These new designs ensure uninterrupted long-hour operation.

Furthermore, Mimaki Advanced Pass System 4 (MAPS4)*3, Nozzle Check Unit (NCU)*4, Nozzle Recovery System (NRS)*5, and Dot Adjustment System (DAS)*6 have inherited our printing functions for supporting a stable operation.
Focusing large indoor and outdoor signage and graphic market, the new models are equipped with “JV330 Series” only for printing function and “CJV330 Series” having print & cut functions each with the lineup of -130 (maximum media width of 1,361 mm) and -160 (maximum media width of 1,610 mm) to be released in April 2022.

Mimaki announces the release of two new roll-to-roll printers, the UJV-100 Series

Mimaki Engineering Co., Ltd. (Headquartered in Nagano Prefecture, Tomi City; President, Kazuaki IKEDA), announces the release of two models of Roll to Roll inkjet printer “100 series” for sign graphics application, “JV100-160” compatible with solvent ink and “UJV100-160” compatible with UV ink, to be available worldwide starting December 1, 2020.


The “100 series” provides customers with new “high operability” based on the “high image quality” and “reliability” technologies that Mimaki Engineering, which has been leading the sign graphics market, has accumulated over many years. It is a product that can be used easily even by those who are unfamiliar with the printer operation.

It should be noted that the printer is equipped with a DAS (Dot Adjustment System) function as standard, which automatically adjusts the dot position correction and media feed amount, which were conventionally performed manually when changing the media to be printed. This feature provides for high operability and significantly reduces workload, while consistently delivering high quality printing by eliminating variance in adjustment among operators.

In addition, the products are equipped with a variety of Mimaki’s functions for sign graphics, including NCU (Nozzle Check Unit) *1, NRS (Nozzle Recovery System) *2 and MAPS4 (Mimaki Advanced Pass System 4) *3 to ensure the realization of the high level of print quality required in the market. The solvent ink compatible model “JV100-160” is compatible with Mimaki’s new generation ink, which has excellent drying properties.

The newly developed inks evaporate quickly to minimize bleeding, even on images requiring large amounts of ink to print, producing beautiful, detailed expressions. This allows indoor and outdoor signs to print directly on common PVC media. This can realize sharp and eye-catching signage prints for applications such as indoor advertisements and outdoor signs that require high weather resistance to support strongly your business.

The UJV100-160, first introduced to emerging markets in March 2020, “UJV100-160” has been received favorably by customers, and sales is now to be expanded worldwide. UV-cured ink used by the model contribute to a significant reduction in production turnaround time due to their quick-drying properties upon output.

In addition to PVC and tarpaulin, which are common in outdoor signage, it can be printed on various media such as fabric (dedicated for sign graphics use), paper without an ink receiving layer, and PET film, so it is a product that can be used by a wide range of customers in the sign graphics market.

Furthermore, the both models are equipped with “RasterLink7” as the standard accessory, which is newly developed as a RIP (Raster Image Processor) *4 that controls printing.

The software was developed by incorporating the Harlequin RIP® from Global Graphics, one of the world’s leading digital printing platforms, into the RIP engine that performs the RIP process. This resulted in improving the reproducibility of the special effect (transparency effect) of PDF files and increasing the RIP processing speed by 25% on average compared to “RasterLink6Plus”. One of features of “RasterLink6Plus”, the favorite settings has been taken over, which has been further improved.
